Greenfield, deadly Tornado Destroys Iowa:

At a press conference, Sgt. Alex Dinkla stated that at least 12 patients received medical attention at hospitals; however, the town’s Adair County Memorial Hospital sustained damage as well, necessitating the transfer of casualties to other institutions by first responders.

The National Weather Service stated that on Wednesday, the severe weather is predicted to move away from the Midwest and towards the southern Plains and the Mississippi Valley. Large hail, wind damage, and tornadoes are likely to occur throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.

Approximately 44 million individuals nationwide, spanning from Texas to upstate New York, are at risk of catastrophic weather. Eight million people are under flood watch, including the Dallas metro region, which could see more than three inches of rain this afternoon and into the evening.

For around 20 million people, from Memphis to New England, the risk persists until Thursday. Shot late on Tuesday, aerial imagery from Greenfield revealed entire streets that were in the tornado’s path reduced to rubble, with mountains of debris amidst shattered trees and totaled cars.

At least 28 residences were impacted by several confirmed tornadoes, according to a statement from Montgomery County Emergency Management. The damage ranged from “affected to destroyed.”

The wind turbines close to Prescott, Iowa, were abandoned and in ruins. And close to Nevada, Iowa, the wind was powerful enough to overturn a lorry that had stopped on a roadway due to the severe weather. No casualties associated with this have been reported.

Because of the extreme circumstances in Iowa, the weather service announced that three teams from its Des Moines office will be sent out to assess the damage caused by the tornado. The findings are anticipated on Wednesday night.
Large hailstones in Colorado broke car windows and stripped the covering off buildings in other areas. According to Denver’s NBC affiliate KUSA, the hail was occasionally as big as a baseball.

A storm that dumped four to eight inches of rain left some people trapped as rushing floodwaters in Omaha, Nebraska, sweep away cars.
Mike Troy, a local and school football coach, was interviewed by NBC affiliate WOWT of Omaha. Troy’s house was located on a recently formed island. According to him, the water was not thought to be deep enough to warrant a rescue.

As of 6 a.m. ET, the energy connection tracker PowerOutage.us reported that 67,000 energy customers were without electricity in Wisconsin and that over 70,000 energy customers in Texas were still without power following a chaotic few days of severe weather.
