Jeremy Renner remembered the moment he saw his own eyeball after being ran over by a snowplough.
The actor, who played the superhero Hawkeye in six Marvel films and television episodes, was hospitalised in Reno, Nevada, in January 2023, following an accident on his home. He had used the car to tow his nephew’s truck, but it slipped sideways and became stuck beneath the tracks.
In the 911 call obtained by Business Insider, his neighbour stated: “Someone is on the ground in front of my house.” He was hit by a snowcat. He has been devastated!. The actor underwent surgery later on to address “blunt chest trauma.”
Despite being seriously hurt, Renner has recovered and is able to resume his career. Three months following his hospital stay, the actor made an appearance to promote his Disney+ series, “Rennervations.” In April of last year, he told ABC’s Diane Sawyer that he thought his recovery was aided by his mental toughness: “I know I’m psychologically strong. My mother taught me that.”
January 2024 was when Renner began filming “The Mayor of Kingstown” season three, one year after the disaster. During Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Renner mentioned the incident when promoting the series.
“It was vicious, guy. I tried to get back on it, but I got trapped in the tracks, breaking 38 bones. It was harsh,” he remarked.
He went on to say, “Half my face is metal.” My entire back, to the right, is made of metal. Yes, the ribs. The ribs were broken fourteen times. And since my eyeball was out, you may see with your other eye.”
Renner claimed that he made the decision not to consider his horrifying wounds at the moment.
“So bizarre things are going through your thoughts. ‘Well, I guess that’s genuine, but I’ll worry about it later,’ he said. I turn to face my legs. They were all contorted, and I had to focus on breathing first, so I’ll worry about that later, right?
When Fallon was asked if he panicked during the crash, he replied, “You cannot. That’s when you pass away. “Renner continued, saying that his injuries had improved his attitude on life. He declared, “I’ll never have a bad day in my life. Is that not impossible?.
Following a horrifying snow plough injury, Jeremy Renner resumes his stunt career:
Jeremy Renner is back doing stunt work, barely over a year after nearly dying in a snowplough accident.
The 53-year-old actor, who was crushed by a 14,000-pound car in January 2023, suffered orthopaedic injuries and blunt chest trauma. He never expected to be filming action scenes again, but he’s been filming the third season of his Paramount+ TV series “The Mayor of Kingstown,” and he anticipates being in better shape than ever in the months to come.
During a visit on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, the host questioned the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ actor if he was “back up to 100%,” to which he replied, “I don’t know what that is. However, by maybe the end of the year, I hope to be at least 150 percent.
“And doing stunts was, like, not on the agenda for me because I was barely moving around. But, you know, I went up and just said, “I’ll just do it,” and I put on these tennis shoes and went, “Let me try it. Muscle memory happened on its own.”
Jeremy said that he was not “confident” in completing the stunts, but was glad to have “got it done”.
“I wasn’t confident in it, by any means,” he went on. We completed it. That’s even, I believe, what the wonderful clip we brought is a part of that scene.
The ‘The Hurt Locker’ star, who has 11-year-old daughter Ava with ex-wife Sonni Pacheco, claimed that executing the feats was another proof that he was “moving forward” after his accident.
It’s progressing, he stated. And who doesn’t like a little pat on the back for accomplishments? Furthermore, advancement serves as a powerful catalyst for continued advancement.”My daughter and her family have been the top performers in that fuel. And because I believe it to be eternal, I hope and am confident that it will go on.”
Jeremy found that talking about the accident had been “pretty cathartic” after thinking back on his near-death experience. He explained, “I do discuss it. I’ve posted some information on the healing on social media and other places.”
